Step into the season with A Holiday Evening at the Allis, a festive open-house celebration inside one of Milwaukee’s most cherished historic mansions. Enjoy an inviting night of art, music, creativity, and community as we welcome neighbors, families, and friends into the beautifully decorated Charles Allis Art Museum. Free and Open to the public.

Live Music by Jamison “The Jam-is-on” Fernandez

The evening will feature live music by Jamison “The Jam-is-on” Fernandez, a Wisconsin-based multi-instrumentalist known for his joyful energy and soulful blend of rock, blues, indie, folk, and pop. With more than a decade of performing and teaching, Jamison brings heartfelt vocals and looping acoustic riffs that fill the space with warmth and nostalgia. His setlist blends beloved classics with contemporary favorites, creating the perfect musical backdrop for the evening.

Family-Friendly Holiday Activities

Guests of all ages can take part in hands-on seasonal activities, including:

  • Holiday card-making with stamps, stencils, stickers, and decorative papers
  • Cookie decorating with sugar cookies, icing, and festive toppings
  • Wood ornament decorating with paint markers and embellishments

  • Bated Breath: Neglected Possessions
    Featuring Leah Schlageter, Catherine Martin, and Sea Green
    November 6, 2025 – January 26, 2026

    Spread throughout the historic mansion, Bated Breath: Neglected Possessions invites visitors to explore a world where overlooked and forgotten objects become sources of imagination and possibility. Through multimedia works that include wire corsets, smoking caterpillars, miniature rooms, and metal milinillos, the artists examine reinvention, transformation, and the quiet beauty found in remnants of the past. Each piece encourages visitors to pause, reflect, and consider how everyday objects can hold deeper meaning.
     
  • Human Condition: A Study of the Body
    September 4 – December 11, 2025

    On view in the Great Hall, Human Condition examines the complexity of the human form and our relationship with it. Featuring works by local and regional artists, the exhibition highlights resilience, vulnerability, memory, and transformation—offering an intimate reflection on the diversity and nuance of being human
