The Milwaukee Women’s Art Library Round Table: The MWAL Intergenerational Exchange

August 25, 2019 | 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Join us for brief presentations and a round table with artists Della Wells, Theresa Colombus, and the LUNA collective, an intergenerational selection of artists who share differing perspectives on inclusion and remembrance of women and non-binary artists in the city.

After introductions, the floor will open for a discussion around tactics and best practices for keeping the art histories of women and non-binary artists alive in their own localities. We will collectively consider questions regarding how women and non-binary artists in Milwaukee are documented and remembered, whose names make-up the art historical cannon, and who gains access.

The MWAL (Milwaukee Women’s Art Library) will be open after the event to those who would like to submit material into the archive or browse the current collection. A children’s activity table will be available as well as light refreshments.
