ABHM x the Allis Book Club
October 6, 2022 | 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
An essential tool for Black travelers looking for adventure, relaxation, food and—above-all— safety while doing so, the Green Book is a cultural and historical icon.
"[While the Green Book is a] symbol of Jim Crow America, it is also a stunning rebuke of it, born out of ingenuity and the relentless quest for freedom." - Henry Louis Gates, Jr., Harvard University
Join the Allis, and our friends from America's Black Holocaust Museum, as we follow Candacy Taylor's journey to rediscover sites and routes from the Green Book, bringing American history to life and discuss how far we've come and how far we have to go in building a safe and equitable country for all.
