Once again Shirley is an orphan! She stows away in Young's car and ends up on a ship to San Francisco. The Captain puts her in Alice's charge, and for the rest of the film, Shirley tries to get Alice to fall in love with Young. Alice introduces her two popular hits "Good Night, My Love" and "One Never Knows, Does One?"
