Lectures and Libations: The Evolution of Political Polarization on College Campuses
May 21, 2026 | 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
This project studies whether college campuses are contributing to political polarization in the U.S. Studying the evolution of political views of college students throughout their tenure, we find that while college-goers and non-college-goers have often followed similar broad trends in political views, however in the past two decades colleges appear to be becoming more ideologically sorted, with some campuses growing more politically uniform.
