a C
air to remember
The Charles Allis and Villa Terrace Art Museums’ very first Chair-ity Auction will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum to benefit CAVT museum preservation and programming. Up to 50 chairs created and donated by area artists, designers, carpenters, students, non-profits, businesses and corporations will be sold at live and silent auctions the day of the event. Check back here, as well as our Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr pages to view chairs as they come in. A special preview will also be held on June 3rd during the Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museums's Renaissance Garden opening.
The Charles Allis and Villa Terrace Art Museums are both historic house museums with a rich history and legacy within the Milwaukee community. All proceeds from the "A Chair to Remember" auction event will be used to continue our arts programing with emerging teens, veterans and MPS students, with the exhibition of Wisconsin artists and to help preserve the integrity of these historic gems.
If you are interested in creating and donating a chair or becoming an event sponsor for the "A Chair to Remember" auction event, please email CAVT Event Manager Ann Steinbach at asteinbach@cavtmuseums.org or call 414 278 8295. "A Chair to Remember" promises to be a spectacular celebration of creativity in our community.
